Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame
OVERVIEW
In partnership with the Home Depot Backyard, the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame inducted its Black Music Month Class of 2022 induction ceremony and Juneteenth celebration at the Home Depot Backyard.
More than 3,500 community members and 250 VIPs in the music and entertainment industry gathered to celebrate the Inductees: Cathy Hughes, T.D. Jakes, Charlie Wilson, RUN DMC, Tamela Mann, Nas, Donnie McClurkin, Prince, Bob Marley, the Clark Sisters, Bob Marley, Angela Bassett, Patti LaBelle, Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff and Duke Ellington.
The celebration, hosted by Actress and Grammy Award-winning artist Letoya Luckett and Radio Host Willie Moore, Jr., featured a unique culinary experience curated by Chef Daryl Shular, the first African-American and minority to successfully become a Certified Master Chef. In honor of Prince’s one-of-a-kind greatness, his June 7th birthday, and 25 years of Emancipation, the closing ceremonies ended with a spectacular fireworks display, featuring one of his more popular mainstream songs “Let’s Go Crazy.”
